Vaccination update for Lanzarote

In vaccination group 1, which includes users and workers at social health centres, 100% of the target population has already had their first dose, while in group 2, that of health professionals 84.32% have received their first dose

On the Canary Islands there are a total of 7,630 people who have completed vaccination, having also received their second dose of vaccine.

85% of all the vaccines were manufactured by Pfizer

Approved vaccines are from AstraZeneca, Moderna and Pfizer with a fourth Covid vaccine from US pharmaceutical company Janssen, set to be approved by the European Union on March 8

The Spanish Health Ministry is still predicting that Spain will be able to reach its goal of vaccinating 70% of the population by summer - The restraint is supply which is very very tight

Vaccine passport

At this stage, it's all still speculation. However, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), an airline trade association that represents 290 airlines worldwide, said that it was in the final stages of developing a digital vaccine passport for travelers. The IATA Travel Pass will let travelers share their vaccination status and COVID-19 test results with airlines and border authorities, via a contactless passport app.

Both the Spanish and UK Governments have stated they are considering the use of Travel passports

The Greek government confirmed this week they are having discussions with the UK government about being "open" for the crucial summer season and that vaccine certificates are part of those discussions - and it would negate the need for travellers to get a negative antigen test before they depart or then have any further tests once they arrive

Roadmap for England

Boris Johnson will announce his roadmap for England including when he expects international travel can take place on February 22

Scotland seems to restrict any movement in the near future, with many people suggesting just fly via Dublin and you do not even need Covid-19 test prior to arrival!
