Lanzarote is open

Trying to cut through the confusion and speculation, the facts as we see them are as follows

Note: Important to remember both your home country and arriving country needs to allow travel / visitors, this could be described as a "handshake"

Sometimes it feels like we take one step forward.... three steps back!

I thought we would start on the current status of the airlines flying to Lanzarote

Jet2 - Commence July 1

Tui - Flying circa 3 times a week

Easyjet - Commence July 3 - some flights from Gatwick only in June

Wizz Air - Commence July 2

Aer Lingus - Commence July 1

Ryanair - Flights circa 3 times per week

Spain has officially added the UK to its list of countries outside of the EU that are allowed to enter the country, including the Canary Islands without a need for a PCR Test

Also you no longer have to do a Rapid/Antigen test on arrival at a Tourist registered (Legal) Hotel, Villa or Apartment if you come from a low risk country (as the UK is categorised ) and have been fully vaccinated, you can read more from those great people at Lanzarote Information about this and if you have not been vaccinated at - https://lanzaroteinformation.co.uk/covid-testing-protocol-for-tourists/

UK Government - Next review of the traffic lights is June 24

Ireland - The `Irish Government announced they will allow travel from July 19 and adopt the EU COVID-19 certificate to help citizens move more freely across the EU including Lanzarote

Travel Insurance

There seems to be much confusion in relation to travel insurance

In general terms your travel insurance in the UK is dependant on the current FCO advice NOT the red, amber, green traffic light system

The current FCO advice is, it is OK to travel to the Canary Islands, so your travel insurance is valid - of course, always check with your provider

Vaccinations in the Canary Islands

It has improved to where 24.6% of the population has now been vaccinated, (It was 9.4% four weeks ago)
