Castillo de Santa Barbara - Pirate museum
Below is the third post of four submitted by some recent guests
If you've ever wondered what the old building is high above Teguise, it's called the Castilla de Santa Barbara.
It's only a few minutes drive from the villa and gives the most spectacular views over Teguise and the coast beyond.
The view itself justifies the trip but the castle also houses a small museum dedicated to the history of piracy in the Canary Islands.
It's a charming place well worth the €3 charge for entry.
Who would have guessed that Nelson tried unsuccessfully to invade Lanzarote.
Well there's a short film that tells you all about it.
Something here for the whole family.
